M3GAN 2.0 trades the original’s eerie, suspenseful vibe for glossy, action-packed spectacle, with slick cinematography full of high-tech labs, dramatic chase scenes, and blockbuster-style camera work.
While it looks polished, I thought the unsettling atmosphere that made the first film stand out was missing. The pacing is fast and packed with big stunts and meme-worthy moments.
Acting-wise, Jenna Davis once again delivers sharp, sardonic fun as M3GAN’s voice, easily stealing every scene she’s in, but the human characters feel underwritten and less emotionally engaging this time around.
Overall, the sequel is entertaining and embraces its campy sci-fi chaos, but it sacrifices the creepy charm and tight horror-satire of the original.
