I just watched ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ on Netflix, and I honestly had way more fun with it than I expected. It’s such a wild mix—part K-pop idol fantasy, part supernatural action movie—and it totally works. The animation is super stylish, kind of like Spider-Verse meets anime, with bold colors and over-the-top fight scenes that feel like music videos.
I loved how the group, Huntr/x, isn’t just about pop stardom—they’re literally fighting demons between sets. The songs were actually great too—“Golden” and “Takedown” are still stuck in my head—and they tied into the story in a way that didn’t feel forced. What surprised me most was how emotional it got, especially with Rumi’s backstory and her connection to Jinu from the rival group. There were a few characters I wish had more depth, but overall, it was a really fun, fresh take on both K-pop and fantasy.
